creating a "search" that sends new videos to people based on keywords can be done at www.feedgit.com try google video and your favorite movie or musician. We create a video RSS feed. The next version of our video inbox (3 weeks out) inclue! will allow people to put in a keyword and recieve videos as they are released from the major search engines.

"Taking this scenario to the next level, celebrities like Judy and Richard might recommend an entire day’s worth of programmes and organise an interface that allowed you to start a 24 hour stream with a single click."

It's a playlist... and to build it you need a library.
Editors are king and they will not need to own a TV channel anymore.
(rss or tag are just proxi)

Nick and Leafar - I think you are both right but for different segments of the market. Tech savvy/sophisticated viewers will predominantly use tools like inclue and others will use editors to make choices for them.

Being an editor is often an ego business - I wonder if we will see many more of them once all you have to do is get a website live???

    I agree largely with leafar.

Think of what iTunes did to music:

    - unbundle albums, allow people to build their own collections
    - good metadata and search
    - share playlists with social nets
    - easy distribution
    - analytics
    - advertising
    - "free ride" over the 'Net to the "Apple STB"

And the reason this won't happen to TV is what exactly..............?
