  • The PC industry analogy has been around quite awhile - a more appropriate mental model imho is to observe that Apple has "made" the Mobile Web possible with the iPhone as they did with Apple II in the PC industry. The question is who will play IBM/Microsoft in Mobile. Google?
  • Hey Alan - good question. I guess if you have to pick a single company I would say Nokia or open source (maybe driven by Google). Google will be peripheral and mostly interested in pushing search and their internet products, which makes them a little different to any of the web companies.
  • Nic, Nokia could well play the IBM role - but who will play Microsoft ;)
